Ron Chesnut

Ron Chesnut graduated from Western Kentucky University, earning a B.A. degree in 1968 and and M.A. degree in 1970. Ron the attended the University of Tennessee School of Law and received a J.D. degree in 1973. Upon graduation, he was employed as the Court’s Law Clerk for the United States District Court Northeastern Division in Greeneville until 1976, when he went into private practice. Ron has been in private practice in Greeneville since then.

Ron has been married to Patricia Chesnut for 54 years and they have two adult children, Amy Moon and Alex Chesnut, and four grandchildren. They have been residents fo Greeneville/Greene County since 1974. Ron and Alex practiced law together since 2012.

Ron and Alex are genuine Tennessee Vols sports fans in all sports, but especially football and basketball. If you want to strike up a conversation with either of them just mention Tennessee Sports.

Alex Chesnut

Alex Chesnut was born in Greene County, Tennessee in 1976. After graduating from Greeneville High School in 1994, Alex continued his education at The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. After graduating from UTK in 1998, Alex went to work for Proffitt’s Department Stores managing stores throughout east Tennessee. In 2004, Alex moved back to Greeneville, Tennessee to raise his family and had his first child, Abigail, in 2005. After working for his in-laws and remodeling houses, Alex decided to go into business with his lifelong friend by purchasing a local landmark, Edgemont Market. Owning a local business gave Alex the opportunity to reacquaint himself with many old friends and new members of the community. While Alex enjoyed his time owning and managing Edgemont Mkt., in 2009, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer and achieved a scholarship to The Appalachian School of Law. Alex graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2012, he immediately began practicing law with his father, E. Ronald Chesnut. 

Alex is married to Mary Ellen Chesnut who teaches 3rd grade math at Eastview Elementary School (coincidently where Alex attend school as well). He spends most of his free time with his four children: Abigail, Alexandria, Jack, and Hannah Kate and attending their many activities. As you will notice after walking into his office, Alex loves his family and The Tennessee VOLS.
